lyrics

One day, while trying to figure out the square root of pi
I saw a man in the sky who had tears in his eyes
So I asked him, why are you crying
He told me he found out that the whole world was dying
Well I said this is really quite odd
If you're up in the sky well then surely you are God
And surely you can stop all these bad things from happening

He said we all know what's right
But sometimes we forget because we're holding on too tight
It's hard to let go
When the world's just not as safe as it was before

One day, while I was going for a walk down the road
I saw a man who had holes in his clothes but he was happy
So I asked him, why are you smiling
He told me he found out that the whole world was dying
Well I said I'm not sure how I feel
If you're glad about that then you're too full of evil
We should try to stop all these bad things from happening

He said we all know what's right
But sometimes we forget because we're holding on too tight
It's hard to let go
He said we all know what's right
But sometimes we forget because we're holding on too tight
And it's hard to let go
When the world's just not as safe as it was before
